Financial Analyst


Seeka is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Head Office, reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial insights and supporting decision-making across the business.

About the Role

As a Financial Analyst, you will provide operational and finance leaders with insightful, accurate, and timely reporting and analysis. You will also act as a key point of support for Seeka’s financial systems, helping to drive improvements, training, and effective system use across the organisation.

This role is integral in empowering managers to make informed financial decisions that support the achievement of business objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to enhance reporting, strengthen financial understanding, and improve overall performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting and Analysis:
• Assist with, and where appropriate lead, the development and rollout of financial reporting and analysis across all Seeka divisions
• Identify opportunities to create meaningful, innovative reports that add value to stakeholders
• Manage capital reporting, providing clear visibility of project spend, variances, and actionable insights for budget owners

Systems Management and Administration:
• Support ERP and finance system changes, including upgrades, testing, and releases
• Develop documentation and provide training to improve reporting capability and system usage across the business
• Assist with user access requests, role updates, and system configuration

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Accounts Preparation:
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes across all divisions
• Support month-end activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, half-yearly, and annual financial accounts

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build strong communication channels with Operational and Finance stakeholders
• Help stakeholders understand financial reporting and analysis, enabling informed decision-making
• Provide clear, timely insights and support across the business

 

About You

You are an analytical and proactive finance professional with a passion for turning data into meaningful insights. You are comfortable working with large datasets, systems, and a wide range of stakeholders, and you bring a continuous improvement mindset to your work.

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

• Proven track record of delivering insightful, accurate, and timely reporting and analysis to a management audience
• Strong ability to identify key messages and communicate them clearly
• Advanced analytical skills, including experience with Excel, PowerQuery, SQL, and DAX
• Experience with data modelling and visualisation tools such as Power BI
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, information systems, data analytics, or a related field
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or working towards it is advantageous but not essential
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g. Greentree)
• Experience in the kiwifruit industry is beneficial
