Financial Analyst

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Head Office.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, data, systems, and business improvement. We are looking for a person who can help take our reporting, processes, and financial systems capability to the next level.

This role will suit someone with strong technical and analytical skills who can work with large datasets, understand business processes, and turn complex information into clear, useful insights for decision-makers.

About the Role

As Financial Analyst, you will support operational and finance leaders by delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting and analysis. A key focus of the role will be improving how financial information is captured, structured, reported, and used across the business.

You will act as a key support person for Seeka’s financial systems and reporting tools, helping to improve processes, strengthen data quality, develop reporting solutions, and support effective system use across the organisation.

This is not a traditional accounting-only role. While a sound understanding of finance is important, the ideal candidate will bring strong systems thinking, data capability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting, Analytics and Insight

  • Assist with, and where appropriate lead, the development and rollout of financial reporting and analysis across Seeka divisions
  • Build and improve reports that provide clear, accurate, and actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Work with large datasets from multiple systems and translate them into meaningful reporting outputs
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve existing reporting processes
  • Support capital reporting by providing visibility of project spend, variances, and key insights for budget owners

Systems, Data and Process Improvement

  • Support ERP and finance system changes, including upgrades, testing, releases, and process improvements
  • Assist with system configuration, user access requests, role updates, and data integrity checks
  • Develop documentation, training material, and process guides to improve system usage across the business
  • Work with stakeholders to understand current processes and identify opportunities for better use of systems and data
  • Help improve the reliability, consistency, and efficiency of finance-related reporting processes

Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Support

  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes across the Group
  • Support month-end activities, including reporting, journals, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, half-yearly, and annual financial information
  • Provide analytical support to Finance and Operational teams as required

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Operational, and system stakeholders
  • Help managers understand financial reporting and analysis so they can make informed decisions
  • Communicate insights clearly and practically to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide timely support, training, and guidance to users across the business

About You

You are analytical, curious, and systems-minded. You enjoy working with data, understanding how systems and processes connect, and finding better ways to deliver information to the business.

You may come from a finance, business systems, data analytics, information systems, or reporting background. You do not need to be a traditional accountant, but you will need to be comfortable working with financial information and understanding how it supports business decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical capability, a practical improvement mindset, and the ability to work with stakeholders to turn reporting and system issues into better outcomes.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong experience working with reporting, data, systems, or business process improvement
  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience with Excel and Power Query
  • Experience with SQL, DAX, Power BI, or similar reporting and data visualisation tools
  • Ability to work with large datasets across multiple systems
  • Strong understanding of how data structure, reporting design, and system processes impact business decision-making
  • Experience supporting ERP, accounting, or operational systems
  • Ability to document processes, train users, and support system adoption
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting is beneficial
  • A qualification in information systems, data analytics, finance, accounting, business, or a related field would be advantageous
  • Chartered Accountant qualification or progress towards CA is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with Greentree or similar ERP/accounting systems would be beneficial
  • Experience in the kiwifruit or primary industries sector would be beneficial
