Group Financial Controller

Seeka is seeking a highly capable and experienced Group Financial Controller to join our Finance Team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of financial reporting, controls, and compliance across the Group.

About the Role

As Group Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of Seeka’s financial operations. You will lead a team of accountants and be responsible for delivering best-practice financial reporting, robust internal controls, and effective accounting processes.

You will work closely with the CFO, Audit & Risk Committee, and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and NZX obligations, while supporting strategic financial planning across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the Group annual and half year reports, including statutory reporting
  • Manage relationships with external auditors to ensure compliance and alignment with accounting standards
  • Recommend and implement accounting policies in consultation with the Audit & Risk Committee
  • Ensure best-practice financial reporting, transaction processing, and internal control frameworks
  • Support the CFO in maintaining the Group’s long-term financial plan
  • Support treasury functions, including banking relationships, hedging, and foreign exchange management
  • Assist in coordinating Audit & Risk Committee reporting, including annual work programmes and reporting timetables
  • Contribute to corporate commercial activity such as acquisitions, divestments, capital projects, and other strategic initiatives
  • A strong people leader, who can lead with confidence and empathy.

About You

You are a technically strong and commercially astute finance leader with a proven ability to operate at a senior level within a complex organisation. You bring a proactive, detail-oriented approach and are confident working with senior stakeholders.

Key attributes include:

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and audit within a large or listed organisation
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Experience working with boards, audit committees, and external auditors
  • Treasury and financial planning experience is highly regarded
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA/CPA)
