We're now looking for an Orchard Supervisor to join our passionate team in Gisborne.
What You’ll be Doing
As an Orchard Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for guiding, monitoring, and motivating orchard teams and contractors to ensure high standards are met throughout picking, pruning, and other orchard operations. You’ll play a key role in supporting the Orchard Manager to deliver orchard programmes efficiently while upholding health and safety and Seeka’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train orchard teams in picking, pruning, and other seasonal orchard tasks.
- Ensure weekly timesheets are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Communicate daily with the Orchard Manager to coordinate work programmes.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all orchard sites.
- Monitor plant health and identify signs of stress, disease, or pests.
- Oversee husbandry tasks and orchard operations as required.
- Assist with harvest operations alongside Orchard and Post-Harvest teams.
Technical Knowledge & Experience Required
- Solid understanding of orchard processes and husbandry practices.
- Proven leadership and team supervision experience, preferably in a horticultural environment.
- Familiarity with timesheet management and reporting.
- Practical knowledge of health and safety protocols in an outdoor/agricultural setting.
- Experience with seasonal work planning and coordination.
