Orchard Supervisor- Gisborne

We are looking to recruit an Orchard Supervisor to be based in Gisborne. You will enjoy a high energy and fast-paced role, which requires the ability to oversee all on orchard work of Seeka managed orchards to ensure best practice is adhered to and optimum production is achieved. You will be able to train and supervise orchard teams in aspects of orchard vinework as required to meet seasonal demands. You will also liase with the Orchard Manager on a daily basis to discuss continuity of orchard work programmes and communicate to teams.
The Orchard Supervisor role is responsible for monitoring and motivating picking and or pruning teams and orchard contractors to ensure crops are harvested and maintained according to Seeka standards and specifications. You will oversee all aspects of work being completed on Seeka managed orchards to ensure best practice is adhered to and optimum production is achieved.
Skills and competencies:
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively and at the appropriate level with various types of people
- Can work effectively with others to achieve an optimal outcome
- Able to take an organised approach to all tasks in order to prioritise them according to the demands of the business
- Grasps new concepts and can see the problem in relation to the bigger picture
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Awareness of H&S legislative requirements, and experience in the implementation of these)
- Experience working within kiwifruit, horticulture or primary industry.
- Driver’s licence and access to own transport preferred
